Ceuta: Yann Bodiger’s revelations on the migration crisis

AD Ceuta midfielder Yann Bodiger detailed the impact of the late July migration crisis in the Spanish enclave during an interview with L'Équipe. Bodiger, who joined the club in the summer of 2025 and lives there with his family, noted that nearly 72,000 migrants entered the city across July 30 and 31. He recalled significant disruption to daily life, though the vast majority subsequently returned to Morocco.

Bodiger affirmed that he never considered leaving AD Ceuta and credited local authorities with stabilizing the situation through increased police presence. To bring attention to the issue, his team delayed the kick-off of their matches against Las Palmas on August 23 and Mallorca on August 30 by approximately thirty seconds.
