The clash between Chelsea and Everton (2-0), this Saturday in the Premier League, left its mark on the Blues. Victim…

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez is expected to be sidelined for at least 40 days after undergoing surgery for a fractured jaw. The Argentine shot-stopper suffered the injury following a violent head collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite during Chelsea's 2-0 Premier League victory on Saturday. After remaining on the ground for nearly ten minutes, he was stretchered off and taken to the hospital.
While initial medical examinations ruled out brain and spinal injuries, reports confirmed the jaw fracture that required surgical intervention. Goalkeeper Mike Penders replaced Martínez to make his Premier League debut against Everton and is expected to start in goal for Chelsea during Martínez's recovery period.
