Current OM seen by Chris Waddle

Former Olympique de Marseille winger Chris Waddle shared his views on the current state of the Ligue 1 club in an interview with MadeInFOOT. The former England international expressed optimism that Marseille can secure a top-three or top-four finish this season despite enduring an unpredictable period. He noted that the club is regaining momentum and remains large enough to eventually compete directly with Paris Saint-Germain.

Waddle identified squad instability as a major ongoing issue, pointing out that excessive turnover during transfer windows harms the team's consistency against smaller clubs. He suggested that long-term salvation and a return to past greatness may ultimately require a new investor, shareholder, or owner who can capitalize on the club's large stadium and passionate fanbase.
