Didier Deschamps in the Premier League, the verdict becomes clearer

Didier Deschamps appears unlikely to take over as Manchester United manager as reports indicate the club is prioritizing Antonio Conte. Deschamps, a free agent after concluding his 14-year tenure with the France national team following the 2026 World Cup, had recently been linked to the Old Trafford post. However, Manchester United has reportedly opened talks with Conte to replace under-fire manager Michael Carrick.

Manchester United sits 13th in the Premier League with just one win in six matches, and pressure mounted further following a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Atlético Madrid. According to Italian reports, Conte is near an agreement to take over, narrowing the options for Deschamps, who previously rejected offers from Saudi Arabia.
