Ibrahima Konate has withdrawn from the French national squad ahead of their upcoming match against Turkey in Izmir. The French Football Federation announced that the Real Madrid defender suffered a minor sprain to his right knee during training. Following discussions between the national team medical staff and Real Madrid, Konate was released back to his club.
Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has been called up to replace Konate in manager Zinedine Zidane's squad. The 20-year-old was previously training with the France under-21 team at the national football center and will now join the senior squad at Clairefontaine.
