Manchester City continues to impress on the pitch, but the club’s legal affairs are still poisoning its image in England.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville expressed a desire to stop commentating on Manchester City matches until a final verdict is reached regarding the club's financial offenses case. Neville voiced discomfort following City's 3-0 victory over Liverpool, which featured a goal by Rayan Cherki under manager Enzo Maresca, noting it was his first time covering City since an announcement concerning their guilt.
Neville warned that confirmation of guilt in early 2027 would cast a cloud over the entire Premier League, as Manchester City appeals the decision. Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher supported Neville's concerns, stating that City should not be permitted to win the title if found guilty and demanding a prompt resolution before the season concludes.
