The Story in 60 Seconds

Cécile Traverse Furlan, the wife of iconic French manager Jean-Marc Furlan, has spoken out about her husband's battle with a neurodegenerative disease. Speaking on RMC to coincide with the release of the book "Jean-Marc Furlan, the gift of a life," she revealed that the progressive illness is steadily stealing the 68-year-old tactician's memory and speech.

She described noticing early cognitive symptoms during his time managing AJ Auxerre, where uncharacteristic and frequent bursts of aggression appeared.
