Nearly nine months after leaving Real Madrid, manager Xabi Alonso discussed his exit in an interview with Sky Sports. Alonso stated that his time with the club ended prematurely in January after only a few months, noting that Real Madrid is a special and unique environment where his project was cut short before the season concluded.
Now managing Chelsea, Alonso emphasized that he holds no resentment regarding his departure despite a difficult conclusion that included a Spanish Super Cup final loss to FC Barcelona. He confirmed he gave his best effort and is now completely focused on his new managerial role at Chelsea.
