The French Football Federation is preparing to honor former national team manager Didier Deschamps with a tribute planned for 2027. Deschamps stepped down from his role following the 2026 World Cup after 14 years in charge of the France national team. FFF president Philippe Diallo stated that scheduling demands make 2027 the right time to properly celebrate the 2018 World Cup-winning manager.
Diallo indicated to Ouest-France that the federation is considering March or June 2027 to host the celebratory event. Deschamps, who led Les Bleus to global glory in 2018, was replaced as head coach by Zinedine Zidane following his departure.
