The French Football Federation's Refereeing Department released its debriefing for Ligue 1 matchday 6, addressing key contentious officiating decisions. Regarding the incident that led to a serious injury for Tiago Santos against Le Havre AC, the FFF acknowledged that an officiating error occurred because the challenge warranted a yellow card for reckless play.
The department explained that injury severity alone does not dictate disciplinary actions, noting the tackle lacked excessive brutality or speed to qualify as gross misconduct. Additionally, the FFF reviewed a match between Paris Saint-Germain and Le Mans FC, upholding a VAR decision to cancel a stoppage-time penalty due to Parisian encroachment.
