The Story in 60 Seconds

DAZN and Disney+ have acquired the broadcast rights for La Liga in France through June 2029, ending a 14-year run by beIN Sports. Each platform will show all 380 league matches per season. According to a report cited from L'Equipe, DAZN and Disney+ each agreed to pay 11.5 million euros per season, totaling 23 million euros annually. This joint bid surpassed beIN Sports' revised offer of 20 million euros annually.

The decision was also influenced by established ties between La Liga, overseen by president Javier Tebas, and the new partners. DAZN already holds rights in Spain, Germany, and other territories, while Disney+ covers markets such as the UK and US. French viewers will see the switch highlighted immediately with the upcoming El Clasico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid airing across both platforms.
