A possible move to Manchester City for USMNT youngster Mathis Albert was rejected, with Borussia Dortmund keen on keeping him.

Manchester City approached Borussia Dortmund over the summer to sign 17-year-old American winger Mathis Albert on a permanent transfer. Confirmed reports indicate that multiple clubs made inquiries and offered up to $16.8 million for the teenager, but Dortmund rebuffed all permanent and loan approaches.
Despite Albert not yet featuring in a Bundesliga match this season, Dortmund manager Niko Kovač has insisted the USMNT starlet remains in his first-team plans. The youngster recently impressed under Mauricio Pochettino, scoring his first international goal for the United States against Chile.
