Manchester United have been left reeling after being beaten 2-0 by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez was reportedly challenged by a teammate following a critical interview after a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid. Martinez criticized the club's board, transfer strategy, and squad quality, while backing manager Michael Carrick. United had suffered the loss in Madrid following an early goal from Pablo Barrios, a red card for Leny Yoro, and a late strike by Ademola Lookman.
In separate news, Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa received a £25,000 fine and an official warning from the FA for comments made after a 1-1 draw against United on September 20. Arbeloa had alleged referee bias following an equalizer from Matheus Cunha, which canceled out a Martinez own goal.
