Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey is facing an estimated eight to ten weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. The Spanish international sustained the problem during Arsenal's fixture against Manchester City. Arsenal head coach Renee Slegers confirmed the significant setback ahead of the team's upcoming match against Birmingham City.
Caldentey's extended absence is a further blow for Arsenal, who have struggled in the Women's Super League after a difficult start to their domestic campaign. Slegers also noted that teammate Selina Cerci will remain sidelined for a significant period following a recent knee procedure.
