Martin Odegaard calls on Arsenal to ‘step up’ after Fleetwood humiliation

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has urged his teammates to step up and move on quickly following a shock Carabao Cup penalty shootout elimination by League Two side Fleetwood on Tuesday. After Mikel Arteta made nine changes, Arsenal fell behind to Aaron Loupalo-Bi before second-half substitute Odegaard helped set up Viktor Gyokeres' equalizer. Following a late red card for Max Dowman, Fleetwood held on through extra time to advance on penalties.

Odegaard emphasized that Arsenal cannot feel sorry for themselves as they prepare for a crucial Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend. Arteta congratulated Fleetwood on the historic upset while acknowledging Arsenal's disappointment ahead of their return to league action.
