A team composed of a former warehouse worker and a player once dubbed 'the next Wayne Rooney' beat a side 83 places above them in the English football pecking order.

Fleetwood Town eliminated Arsenal from the Carabao Cup on penalties on Tuesday night, completing one of the competition's biggest upsets. The League Two side, managed by Charlie Lawlor, triumphed over a team ranked 83 places above them in English football. Striker Aaron Loupalo-Bi, on loan from Fulham, put Fleetwood ahead after nutmegging Arsenal goalkeeper Illan Meslier in the 21st minute before the tie was settled via a shootout.
Goalkeeper Jay Lynch, a former warehouse worker, aided the victory by saving Bruno Guimaraes' penalty. Academy graduate Kayden Haughey scored the winning spot-kick, while defender Shaun Rooney, who was previously linked with tennis player Heather Watson, featured alongside former Manchester United academy graduates Rhys Bennett and a midfielder once dubbed the next Wayne Rooney.
