Liverpool came from two goals down to defeat Villarreal 4-3 at Anfield and make it three wins from three in this season’s Champions League.

Liverpool recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat Villarreal 4-3 in a Champions League thriller at Anfield, securing three wins from three in the competition. Georges Mikautadze opened the scoring for the visitors inside four minutes following a Virgil van Dijk error, before Sergi Cardona doubled the lead. Alexis Mac Allister pulled one back with a header, and Ronald Araujo leveled before half-time from Rio Ngumoha's setup.
Liverpool dominated the second half as Ngumoha again provided the assist for Mac Allister's second goal. Substitute Florian Wirtz extended the advantage to 4-2 with a left-footed strike past Peter Gulacsi. A late goal from Villarreal's Tani Oluwaseyi in the 87th minute created a tense finish, but Andoni Iraola's side held on for the victory.
