Haaland gestured to Norway's bench that he needed to come off and was replaced in the 67th minute of the 2-1 defeat to Portugal
Norway manager Ståle Solbakken has addressed Erling Haaland's fitness after the Manchester City striker limped off in the 67th minute of a 2-1 Nations League defeat to Portugal. Solbakken stopped short of confirming an injury, attributing the substitution to exhaustion and a demanding schedule. Prior to the match in Porto, the coach and forward held discussions regarding his heavy workload.
The fitness concern comes ahead of Manchester City's upcoming Premier League fixture against Liverpool. Haaland, who has scored 65 goals in 59 international appearances, had played full matches in Norway's previous fixtures. City faces additional pressure off the pitch as they appeal an independent commission's ruling regarding Premier League financial regulation breaches.
