Acun Ilicali, the owner of Hull City, has had his say on the news that Manchester City have been found guilty of the majority of charges laid against them by the Premier League
Hull City owner Acun Ilicali stated that if Manchester City are found guilty of breaching financial rules, it is comparable to doping and winning an Olympic medal. Speaking on the 1904 Club podcast, Ilicali argued that any upheld ruling must carry severe penalties to deter other clubs from committing similar infractions.
Manchester City continue to deny all charges brought by the Premier League. Ilicali, whose club faced EFL transfer restrictions in 2025 over late payments, stressed that financial rule breaking creates unfair advantages and that harsh punishments are necessary to protect the future of football.
