Alessia Russo scored twice for England against Greece as her recent run continued, with Arsenal now hoping she carries that form back into league action.

Alessia Russo scored twice as England defeated Greece 5-0 on Tuesday at the King Power Stadium, sealing an 8-1 aggregate victory in their World Cup qualifying play-off. Russo scored in the third and 75th minutes, while Georgia Stanway also scored a header. The victory advances England to face Ukraine over two legs in November for a spot in next summer's tournament in Brazil.
Russo's brace extended her scoring run to five goals in her last four appearances across club and country, raising her England total to 33 goals in 69 appearances. The striker previously scored against Paris FC, Manchester City, and in the first leg against Greece after starting the domestic season without a goal in her first three matches.
