Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez was linked with moves to both Arsenal and Barcelona during the recent summer transfer window
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has praised Julian Alvarez for his positive attitude and enthusiasm after the forward worked his way back into the team. Alvarez featured as a half-time substitute in Atletico Madrid's victory over Alaves on Saturday, with Simeone commending the Argentine international for his performance and desire to help the squad.
The forward had been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona during the summer transfer window, reportedly missing several training sessions to force a departure. However, Atletico Madrid refused a permanent sale, with chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin strongly rejecting any possibility of negotiating a transfer with Barcelona.
