Max Dowman’s latest England Under-19 appearance ended unexpectedly after the Arsenal teenager had already played a key part in the win.

Arsenal teenager Max Dowman was shown a straight red card while playing for England Under-19s during a behind-closed-doors friendly against the United States. Dowman was dismissed in the 74th minute following an incident described as a kick out as an opponent bypassed him. Despite the red card, England secured a 2-1 victory at the Marbella Football Center on Friday.
Prior to his sending off, Dowman set up FC Koln's Reigan Heskey for England's opening goal in the first minute. Maximo Carrizo equalized for the United States before Tottenham's Luca Williams-Barnett scored England's winning goal in the 60th minute.
