Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed Eberechi Eze's transition to the left wing for the 2026/27 season. Following the departures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, Eze has been deployed on the left flank as backup to Christos Tzolis. Arteta stated that Eze feels very comfortable in the role, noting that many of the biggest moments of his career have come from that position.
While Eze previously excelled as an attacking midfielder for Arsenal, squad changes have forced him wide. Despite a strong performance against Aston Villa on the wing, the England international has reportedly struggled in recent matches against Napoli and Ipswich.
