Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has avoided major ankle damage following an injury scare on international duty with Norway. The midfielder was hurt in a late challenge by Bernardo Silva during Norway's 2-1 Nations League loss to Portugal on Sunday. Norway assistant coach Brede Hangeland confirmed that scans reviewed by national team doctor Ola Sand revealed nothing dramatic, offering relief to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Although Odegaard missed Tuesday's team training, Hangeland noted the 27-year-old was experiencing less pain and remains in contention to face Wales in Cardiff on Thursday. Norway manager Stale Solbakken confirmed that team medics are liaising with Arsenal regarding Odegaard's workload. The positive scan provides an important boost for the Gunners, who recently saw forward Kai Havertz withdraw from Germany's squad with a muscle injury.
