Arsenal’s poor run has intensified scrutiny on Renee Slegers, with questions growing over whether this team can turn the season around under her.

Writer Sylvain Jamet questions whether Arsenal Women should part ways with head coach Renee Slegers following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Birmingham FC. The result left Arsenal eighth in the table, setting an unwanted club-record run of five consecutive matches without a victory. Jamet argues that both the coaching staff and underperforming players share responsibility for the poor tactical execution and ongoing struggles to break down low-block defenses.
Despite the recent poor run of form, Jamet suggests Arsenal should avoid dismissing Slegers as long as she retains the backing of the dressing room. However, he warns that a managerial change could become necessary very soon if the squad fails to turn their performances around in upcoming fixtures, including their away match against Tottenham.
