Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has issued an apology to the club's supporters regarding comments he made about pursuing a transfer over the summer. Alvarez previously expressed a desire to fulfill his dream of joining FC Barcelona, creating friction with fans before ultimately choosing to remain at Atletico instead of moving to Arsenal.
Alvarez admitted his past remarks were a mistake in both form and timing following his first two goals of the season against Stuttgart and Deportivo A Coruna. The report notes Arsenal pursued a permanent deal, but Alvarez remained focused solely on Barcelona or staying put.
