Senior UEFA figures are trying to convince former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to run for FIFA president, according to a report.

Senior UEFA figures are attempting to persuade former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to run for FIFA president, according to TalkSPORT. Wenger is reportedly UEFA's preferred candidate to challenge current president Gianni Infantino. UEFA hopes to officially announce their chosen candidate within a week, although other potential alternatives are also under consideration if Wenger decides not to enter the presidential race.
Opposition to Infantino has intensified following controversial and ultimately scrapped plans regarding the World Cup. Both the Welsh FA and English FA have formally withdrawn their support for Infantino's 2027–2031 re-election bid. Additionally, UEFA has reportedly been exploring criminal legal action against Infantino over his role in the failed proposals.
