Aston Villa left-back Matteo Ruggeri is set for a spell on the sidelines

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery confirmed that left-back Matteo Ruggeri suffered a hamstring injury during the draw against Brentford. The defender was replaced at half-time by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, adding to Villa's defensive concerns with Ian Maatsen already sidelined by an ankle problem.
Emery noted that Ruggeri will be assessed further, while teenager George Hemmings missed the fixture with a minor knee injury. Villa remain winless at home this season following the Brentford match, where John McGinn scored before Kristoffer Ajer equalized.
