Mitoma Injury Return: Hurzeler Demands Winger Has No Doubts

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that Kaoru Mitoma will miss the upcoming match against Sunderland on October 10. The winger is currently working through stage two of his rehabilitation following a hamstring injury suffered against Wolves late last season. Hurzeler stressed that Mitoma must regain complete confidence in his body before returning to competitive action.

While Mitoma is progressing, Brighton has not set a firm return date. Wide options including Yankuba Minteh, Femi Azeez, and Jack Hinshelwood remain available, though Brighton faces additional fitness concerns with Pascal Struijk, Stefanos Tzimas, and Evan Ferguson.
