Romano: Man Utd Chief Wants ‘Incredible’ Manager To Replace Carrick

Fabrizio Romano has reported that a Manchester United board member highly appreciates Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler as pressure builds on Michael Carrick. United director of football Jason Wilcox is understood to be an admirer of the German head coach following Carrick's poor run of form. Carrick's position is under intense scrutiny after Manchester United suffered a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, marking their seventh consecutive game without a victory.

Hurzeler currently has Brighton sitting third in the Premier League, though Romano noted the manager remains fully focused on his current club. Other managerial candidates reportedly being considered include Julian Nagelsmann, who left his role with Germany after the 2026 World Cup and is favored by director Christopher Vivell, alongside out-of-work coach Antonio Conte.
