Chelsea face ongoing fitness concerns over captain Reece James, Jamie Gittens, and Emmanuel Emegha ahead of their Premier League trip to Everton. James was omitted from Chelsea's recent 5-1 win over Bournemouth after suffering a knee injury in training, with head coach Xabi Alonso stating he will be assessed on a week-by-week basis. The right-back's potential return is targeted for the October 24 fixture against Tottenham.
Meanwhile, winger Jamie Gittens faces roughly three weeks out with an ankle injury suffered while on duty with England Under-21s, targeting a potential return on October 31 against Manchester United. Dutch striker Emmanuel Emegha has returned to full training following a pre-season hamstring issue and could be in contention as early as the upcoming Everton clash.
