Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte revealed that the club repeatedly questioned his decision to sign midfielder N'Golo Kante. In an interview with The Athletic, Conte explained that Chelsea officials asked him ten times if he was certain about the acquisition because Kante did not fit the traditional physical profile of a typical Chelsea signing.
Conte admitted that he initially harbored slight doubts regarding Kante's physicality himself, but he remained thoroughly convinced of the player's elite ability. Kante eventually joined alongside David Luiz and Marcos Alonso, playing a crucial role in Chelsea securing the Premier League title during Conte's tenure.
