Chelsea risk missing out on a £43m transfer fee as Aston Villa could reportedly avoid triggering an appearance-based obligation to buy winger Alejandro Garnacho. Garnacho joined Unai Emery's side on a season-long loan in July but has managed just 60 competitive minutes across five substitute appearances.

According to Football Insider, Villa could freeze Garnacho out to avoid the clause, drawing comparisons to Liverpool's former loanee Harvey Elliott, who was sidelined under a similar conditional £35m purchase agreement last season.
