Cole Palmer was sent off in Chelsea's defeat to Tottenham and the England international has now posted an apology on social media…

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer issued a public apology on Instagram after being sent off during Chelsea's 2-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Palmer received a second yellow card from referee Chris Kavanagh for a late challenge on Conor Gallagher with 10 minutes remaining, having previously been booked for a foul on Mateus Fernandes. The dismissal rules the 24-year-old out of Chelsea's upcoming Carabao Cup match against Liverpool.
Tottenham secured the victory through a Mike Penders own goal and a Mathys Tel strike, marking only their second win against Chelsea in the Premier League era. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso stated after the defeat that the sending-off was a lesson to be learned regarding team maturity during difficult moments.
