Not a single current player for either side makes it.
Planet Football writer Sam Cooper selected an all-time combined starting lineup featuring Chelsea and Manchester United players since 2000 ahead of an upcoming weekend clash. Cooper argues that no current players from either squad would make the lineup, choosing instead to highlight standout historical figures from both Premier League sides.
The chosen team features Petr Cech in goal, a defense of Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, and Ashley Cole, and a midfield trio of Frank Lampard, Roy Keane, and Paul Scholes. Cooper completed the lineup with Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, and Wayne Rooney across the forward line.
