Chelsea face an extended period without striker Joao Pedro due to a knee injury

Chelsea striker Joao Pedro is reportedly receiving specialist treatment during the international break to accelerate his recovery from a knee injury. The 25-year-old forward withdrew from Brazil's squad for friendlies against Australia and India after missing Chelsea's 3-0 defeat to Brentford under manager Xabi Alonso. Reports from Brazil indicate he is expected to be sidelined for up to a month.
Pedro initially experienced knee discomfort during a 2-2 draw with Hull City earlier this month and failed fitness tests prior to the Brentford match. The forward has scored three goals and registered three assists in four appearances this season. Meanwhile, Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer also withdrew from the England squad to manage his workload.
