After an impressive performance against Bournemouth yesterday, Chelsea youngster Josh Acheampong has impressed manager Xabi Alonso and looks poised for an extended run in the side.

Connor Johnson of The Pride of London argues that Josh Acheampong's performance against Bournemouth justified manager Xabi Alonso's faith in the 20-year-old. Starting at right center-back, Acheampong showcased his ability to push forward and contribute effectively in both defense and possession as he competes with Wesley Fofana for a regular starting role.
During the match, Acheampong recorded 73 touches, completed 42 of 51 passes, made 15 line-breaking passes, and contributed four tackles alongside four clearances. Ahead of the fixture, Alonso praised Acheampong's growing maturity, aggressiveness, and potential, noting that the young defender had taken a significant step forward.
