Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has reportedly convinced Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott to join the club ahead of the January transfer window. The West London side is preparing a permanent transfer worth an estimated £90 million, which could potentially rise to £100 million. Chelsea has already established a verbal agreement on personal terms with the 23-year-old England international.
Journalist Simon Phillips reports that Alonso spoke directly with Scott to persuade him to move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea hopes to finalize the agreement with Bournemouth before December ends so the midfielder can join immediately in January, though a club-to-club fee is still pending.
