Frank Lampard hailed as ‘great club’ Coventry City backed to buck Premier League trend

Former Coventry City player-manager Terry Butcher has praised manager Frank Lampard and expressed hope that the club can retain its Premier League status. Coventry City currently sits one point adrift of safety ahead of an upcoming match against bottom-of-the-table Sunderland. Butcher noted that Lampard has done a great job and hopes the club can emulate other newly promoted teams that successfully avoided relegation.

Butcher spoke while supporting a Royal British Legion and MatchWornShirt initiative for the annual Poppy Appeal ahead of Remembrance Sunday. As part of the campaign, signed match-worn shirts from clubs across the Premier League, EFL, and WSL will be auctioned to raise funds for the charity.
