Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a lengthy statement in the aftermath of his decision to walk out on the Portuguese national side, and he's claimed that he should feel the consequences of his actions

Cristiano Ronaldo released a statement admitting he should face punishment from the Portuguese Football Federation following his decision to walk out on the Portugal squad. The veteran forward issued apologies to both the supporters and his international teammates, acknowledging his actions were wrong after he walked straight down the tunnel without acknowledging fans following a match against Norway.
Ronaldo explained that his departure stemmed from perceived broken promises regarding playing time from manager Jorge Jesus. However, Ronaldo conceded that as team captain his actions were an aggravating factor and insisted that rules must apply equally to all players regardless of status.
