Eddie Howe is ready to join Manchester United without any delay if the struggling Premier League giants sack Michael Carrick.

Eddie Howe is reportedly prepared to join Manchester United without delay if the club dismisses Michael Carrick during the international break. A report from Pete O'Rourke on Football Insider claims Howe is open to taking over at Old Trafford, while Julian Nagelsmann is also reportedly interested. The club could consider replacing Carrick if they suffer a decisive loss to Aston Villa.
Manchester United have struggled during the 2026/27 campaign, winning just three of their first 14 fixtures across all competitions. Howe has been out of work since leaving Newcastle United over the summer following an underwhelming 2025/26 season, and he reportedly prefers managing an elite side over mid-table Premier League clubs.
