Everton in talks over behind-closed-doors friendly during international break

Everton are reportedly in talks with Championship side Blackburn Rovers to arrange a behind-closed-doors friendly match during the upcoming international break. The proposed fixture is intended to keep the remaining squad members match-fit during a three-week gap in their domestic schedule. Everton's next Premier League match is not until October 11, when they travel to face Hull City.

Manager David Moyes could use the friendly to provide playing time to squad members with limited minutes and those returning from injuries, such as Merlin Rohl or Christian Norgaard. Several key Everton players, including Jordan Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite, are currently away on international duty. Everton have started their Premier League campaign unbeaten, securing nine points from five matches.
