The Story in 60 Seconds

Everton are reportedly among seven European clubs interested in signing free-agent striker Mauro Icardi, according to TyC Sports. The 33-year-old Argentina international has been without a team since leaving Galatasaray following the expiration of his contract in the summer. Alongside Everton, Tottenham, PAOK, Elche, Real Betis, Besiktas, Benfica, Atletico Mineiro, and Sao Paulo have also been linked with the forward.

Despite the reported interest, Icardi has yet to receive a formal proposal, and no concrete negotiations have taken place. Everton manager David Moyes currently has limited options at center-forward, with Thierno Barry serving as the club's only recognized senior striker following Beto's departure to Fiorentina. Icardi previously scored 77 goals in 134 appearances during his four seasons in Turkey.
