The Everton midfielder had just touched arrived in his hotel room in Turkey when he got the call to say he was being drafted into the England squad

Everton midfielder James Garner cut his holiday short after receiving an England call-up shortly after arriving in Turkey. Garner arrived at his hotel room in Bodrum around 12:30 a.m. and departed the next day to join the national squad. After previously earning a call-up in March, he missed out on the World Cup squad but has returned to the international fold.
Garner also reflected on manager Thomas Tuchel previously likening him to Real Madrid's Federico Valverde, describing it as a positive comparison due to their shared positional versatility across midfield, wing, and right-back roles. Additionally, Garner addressed his past transfer from Manchester United to Everton, noting the move was vital for securing consistent first-team playing time.
