Merlin Rohl sends Everton message to David Moyes and weighs in on debate about Liverpool star

Everton midfielder Merlin Rohl has stated he is unconcerned about where manager David Moyes deploys him, while also defending Liverpool's Florian Wirtz amid recent scrutiny. Rohl, whose loan from Freiburg was made permanent over the summer, spent pre-season and the start of the campaign filling in at right-back. He credited Everton figures Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman with aiding his tactical development and welcomed competition from late-window signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Speaking to German publication Kicker, Rohl also addressed the debate surrounding compatriot Wirtz following his high-profile move from Bayer Leverkusen. Rohl stated that Wirtz is an exceptional player who is dealing with the intense pressure and expectations linked to his reported £116m transfer fee.
