Thierno Barry's revival: From nightmare debut season to Everton hero

Everton striker Thierno Barry continued his dramatic turnaround in form by scoring in a Premier League victory against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Monday. The 24-year-old French forward has matched his entire previous season total of eight goals in just 12 games this campaign. Among Premier League players across all competitions, only Manchester City's Erling Haaland has scored more goals so far this season.

Barry arrived from Villarreal for £27m but endured a difficult debut season, managing only eight goals in 41 appearances. Following Beto's departure to Fiorentina, Barry has established himself as David Moyes' sole senior central striker. Despite occasional scrutiny over missed opportunities, the striker has been directly involved in 62.5% of Everton's big chances this season.
