Having gone winless in your first six games and conceded goals at a rate of almost two a game, there are worse ways to recover than a pair of gritty 1-0 victories.

Fulham head coach Alvaro Arbeloa addressed his squad's tactical evolution following a difficult start to the Premier League season. Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of facing Aston Villa, Arbeloa explained that Fulham have moved away from overly open tactics to establish greater defensive solidity, recovering from a six-match winless run with consecutive 1-0 victories over Coventry and Hull.
Arbeloa also backed record summer signing Gonzalo Garcia to rediscover his goalscoring form despite going without a league goal since his opening-weekend debut against Chelsea. The manager stressed that the team must provide the 22-year-old striker with improved service from wide areas and adapt better to the physical intensity of late-game Premier League situations.
