The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Fulham coach Javier Pereira stated in an interview with Marca that Fulham are unlikely to dismiss manager Álvaro Arbeloa despite a poor start to the season. The 43-year-old Spaniard replaced Marco Silva in June on a contract running through 2029, but Fulham currently sit bottom of the Premier League table with two points from six matches.

Pereira explained that Fulham have committed to a long-term project around Arbeloa, which included investing over €100m on seven summer signings, three of whom arrived from Real Madrid. Pereira advised Arbeloa to adjust his tactics and rely more heavily on experienced Premier League players for upcoming fixtures against Hull City and Coventry City.
