The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Ipswich Town forward Tyreece Simpson has joined Southend United on loan from Port Vale until January and scored on his debut. The 24-year-old striker came off the bench to score for Kieron Dyer's side during a 3-3 away draw against Worthing. Dyer previously coached Simpson in the youth academy at Ipswich Town.

Simpson joined Port Vale on a one-year deal in August after recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon that sidelined him for the entire 2025/26 campaign. He previously left Ipswich in 2022 to join Huddersfield Town for £500,000 following a publicized contract dispute.
