Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil has explained why Sasa Lukic didn't feature in this afternoon's 3-2 defeat at Manchester City.
Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil revealed that midfielder Sasa Lukic missed the team's 3-2 defeat at Manchester City due to a minor groin issue. The Serbian international was left out of the matchday squad completely as a precaution to avoid worsening the problem.
O'Neil expects Lukic to return to training early in the week and be available for the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest. In Lukic's absence, Florentino Luis and Exequiel Palacios started in midfield, while Azor Matusiwa made his Premier League debut from the bench.
